It was hardly the best performance we’ll ever see from Manchester United, but any win at Anfield is one worth celebrating.
Not since 2007 had United taken all three points from Anfield, but that’s just what they did on Sunday despite playing well below par, courtesy of a rash Shelvey challenge, a wonder goal from Rafael and a quality penalty from Robin Van Persie.
