Manchester United will head off on an extensive pre-season tour on Monday (UK Time) as they head to South Africa for the first of a host of pre-season fixtures across three different continents.
With the squad set to be announced over the next 24-48 hours, with a number of big names omitted due to their international commitments over the off-season, Manchester United will take on AmaZulu FC in Durban on the 19th of July, before playing Ajax Cape Town in Cape Town on the 21st.
From South Africa, the Reds will continue their pre-season in China, where they will play Shanghai Shenhua on the 25th of July. United are a massive hit with the Asian fans, and a warm reception is expected, as always, when United take to the field in Shanghai, where they will face former Chelsea strike duo Nicolas Anelka and newly signed Dider Drogba.
Uniterd will then head to Scandinavia, where they will play in Norway against local side Valerenga in Oslo on the 6th of August, ahead of a monster clash with FC Barcelona in Gothenburg, Sweden, on the 9th.
The Red Devils will conclude their tour with a friendly fixture against Hannover in Germany on the 12th of August.
Television coverage of United’s tour in Australia will be essentially non-existent. Setanta Sports feature none of the fixtures on their TV Listings in their pre-season coverage.
You can follow the games with an MUTV Online subscription (worth about $75 for the year) or scouring the net for free streams.
